The October auction session ends in style with the auction of Asian Works of Art held at Palazzo Crivelli on the 22nd of October

the record result is over 600,000 euros, with an average of 70% of lots sold and a 240% increase by value. Particularly intense was the bidding rhythm during the session dedicated to Chinese art, where unpublished works of exceptionally high quality and excellent provenance, such as the bronze censer with dragon motif relief, from the prestigious Luisa Feltrinelli Doria Collection, sold € 56,250 (lot 124) were the top lots of the auction. Among the best adjudications, we can find a rare couple of double gourd panels (lot 94, sold € 35,000) and the large sculpture representing Buddha (lot 173, sold € 35,000).

Jades are always in high demand among Asian customers, especially those characterized by splendid manufactures, such as the Celadon plaque carved on both sides with figures in a mountain landscape with pagodas (lot 141, sold € 23,750) and the extremely fine porcelains, among which two pairs of cups are particularly remarkable: one has a rust background with motifs of dragons and phoenixes and Tongzhi mark (lot 87, sold € 27,500), the other has a square shape and decorations depicting the eight immortals (lot 1, sold € 11,250). An Anglo-Chinese teapot in gilded silver, engraved under the base with the ideogram "Dong Lu" and a British coat of arms with a marquis crown, obtained great appreciation and an equally great result (lot 134 sold € 21,250).

A catalogue made up of 373 lots, able to go geographically beyond the Celestial Empire's borders, which has also seen significant participation during the afternoon session dedicated to Japanese and Siamese manufactures. Indeed, the highest percentage of online attendance was registered by the proposal addressed to the Rising Sun. Remarkable is the adjudication of the pair of rectangular tables with red background inlaid with mother-of-pearl (lot 265, sold € 30,000) and the elegant two panel screen decorated with cherry blossoms motifs (lot 290, sold € 6,875). The series of netsuke characterized by precious carvings aroused considerable interest, reaching almost all adjudications, among them, stands out the one attributed to master Mitsuharu (lot 292, sold € 2,375). In the Siamese section, the highlight was the silver teapot of octagonal shape, destined to the Thai Royal Court (lot 266, sold € 20,000).
