[BIBLIA] - Incipit epistola sancti Hieronymi ad Paulinum presbyterum. Venice: Franciscus Renner, de Heilbronn, 1480. A complete copy in contemporary blindstamped pigskin of this interesting Bible printed in Venice by Renner in 1480. Various copies are present in libraries, but it is rare to be found on the market: only a few copies are registered at auction on RBH. 4to (235 x 170mm). Large initial rubricated at the beginning of the text and other initials in red (title remargined with small restoration in the upper margin, final leaves with minimal restoration at the lower corner and final leaf with little restoration on the margin, some occasional spotting, small wormtrack in the upper margin of some central leaves from 9(1) and very tiny hole to few previous leaves, without final blank). Contemporary blindstamped pigskin, later manuscript title on spine (modern endpapers which reuse early manuscripted vellum from an antiphonary, modern clasps and some light restorations); preserved in a modern case. Provenance: some early annotations.
