GRAEVIUS, Johann Georg (1632-1703) - Splendor magnificentissimae urbis Venetiarum clarissimus. She give: Pieter Van der Aa, ca.1720. An important atlas dedicated to the city of Venice with good impressions of the plates which, in addition to reproducing the famous art and architecture of the city, illustrate its festivals and ceremonies. Some of the engravings are inspired by the great artists of the time such as Carlevarijs and Canaletto. Folio (400 x 245mm). Two half-titles and two titles printed in red and black with engraved vignettes, 83 (of 115) double-page plates (slightly browned in the margins, lacking the bird-eye-view and the plan of the city). In loose sheets contained in a paper portolio backed in green cloth. Being incomplete the work is sold as not subject to return.
