First edition of this treatise on military strategy written by Giovanni Cicogna, an historiographer and soldier from Verona. The work contains numerous woodcut illustrations of military strategy and battle tactics. 4to (206 x 145mm). Woodcut device on title and final leaf, woodcut portrait on verso of title, numerous woodcut illustrations, some full-page, the dedicatee Ottavio Farnese coat of arms at beginning of text and historiated woodcut initials (first leaves with wormtrack to inner margin, occasional browning and spotting, a few stains).
